A pram is bulky, which is what makes it awkward to sell. The price matters, but so does who boxes it up, who gets it to the buyer and how long you wait to be paid. This guide goes through the main options. We run Rebuggy, so we say where we fit, but the others are described as fairly as we can from their own published terms. Check each one's current terms before you commit, because they change.
The short version
- Want it gone with no packing or posting? Use a service that collects. That is us, or a resale service such as Rekiddle.
- Happy to meet a buyer and haggle? Facebook Marketplace local pickup or eBay collection are free to list for most private sellers.
- Own a Mamas & Papas pushchair? Ask about their trade-in, but you are paid in vouchers for their shop.
Rebuggy
You get an instant price online. We send a free box and arrange free FedEx collection (DPD for the biggest prams), and we pay you within 48 hours of it passing our check. There is nothing to list, no haggling and no buyer to meet. Get your price.
The trade-off is that you accept our price rather than waiting for a buyer to pay more. Our prices are on our value pages.
Vinted
Can you sell a pram on Vinted? Yes. Vinted shows the carriers and the size and weight limit of each when you list. If your pram is over what the label options allow, Vinted says to arrange your own courier and list it with custom shipping. Vinted's help page also says it pays no compensation on custom-shipped orders, so you carry the risk if it is damaged or lost. Fold it as small as it will go before you check the limits. Vinted's own help page has the current limits: choosing package size.
Facebook Marketplace
Local pickup has no fee. When we last checked, shipped sales through Facebook's delivery service carried a 2% fee, and items had to be priced between £1 and £500. A pram is usually bulky, so expect to arrange a pickup time with the buyer. See Money to the Masses' summary.
eBay
Since October 2024, private sellers on eBay UK pay no selling fees in almost all categories (ChannelX report). You still need to photograph it, write the listing and either offer collection or find a courier that takes an item this size and quote the postage.
Mamas & Papas trade-in
Mamas & Papas has offered a trade-in for its own pushchairs, paid in vouchers for its shops, with reports of up to £150 (Retail Gazette, September 2023). It was limited to Mamas & Papas pushchairs and places for trade-in events were limited, so you had to book (Nursery Today). Those reports are from 2023, so ask the brand what is on offer now.
Rekiddle and other resale services
Rekiddle describes a service that handles collection, inspection and delivery of premium baby gear, so you don't deal with buyers. We haven't verified their fees or payout times, so check both before you agree.
Questions to ask whoever you sell through
- Who pays for packing and carriage, and who is responsible if it is damaged?
- Do I get cash or a voucher?
- How long until I am paid?
- What happens if the buyer says it isn't as described?
- Does it accept my model and condition?
