We check 11 things. Here's the list.

Every buggy goes through the same checklist before it can be listed. Each check is photographed and signed off with a name and date, and you can see the signed checklist on every shop page.

1. BS EN 1888 label. The label showing it meets the UK pushchair safety standard is there and readable.
2. Fire safety label. Fabrics carry their flammability label.
3. Fold locks. The frame locks open and stays locked under load.
4. Harness. Every strap, buckle and anchor point holds, with no fraying.
5. Brakes forwards. The parking brake holds on a slope facing downhill.
6. Brakes backwards. And facing uphill.
7. Wheels. No cracks, wobble or flat spots, and they lock and swivel properly.
8. Frame. No cracks, bends or corrosion anywhere on the chassis.
9. Finger traps. Hinges and folding points have their guards and don't pinch.
10. Sharp edges. No sharp or broken plastic anywhere a hand can reach.
11. Recall check. We check the model and serial number against manufacturer and UK product recall notices.

If a buggy fails any check, we fix it and run the whole checklist again, or it's stripped for parts. It never goes on sale.
