About each Bugaboo we buy
Bugaboo Bee 6
The Bee 6 is a light city pushchair with a reversible seat that nearly lies flat, plus an optional carrycot for newborns. It steers easily through shops and on public transport and folds one-handed with the seat on. The basket is small, and it is best kept to pavements.
- Best for:
- City parents who want a light, reversible everyday buggy
- Comes with:
- frame and seat unit
- New:
- about £599
Bugaboo Butterfly
The original Butterfly is a cabin-size travel buggy that folds in a second and fits in most overhead lockers. The seat only partly reclines, so it suits babies from about six months. The Butterfly 2 has replaced it, which makes this a sensible secondhand pick for holidays and city trips.
- Best for:
- Families with an older baby who travel light
- Comes with:
- frame and seat unit
- New:
- about £395
Bugaboo Butterfly 2
The Butterfly 2 is Bugaboo's cabin-size travel buggy, updated so the seat lies flat and can be used from birth. It folds in a second into a bag-sized package and still has a good-sized basket. It is built for pavements and airports rather than muddy parks.
- Best for:
- Parents who fly often and want one buggy from birth
- Comes with:
- frame, seat unit and rain cover
- New:
- about £435
Bugaboo Donkey 5
The Donkey 5 is a side-by-side pram that starts as a single with a handy side basket and widens to take two children. As a single it is no wider than a Fox, and as a double it still fits through a standard doorway. It is heavy and big when folded, but it saves buying a second pram.
- Best for:
- Families planning a second baby or expecting twins
- Comes with:
- frame, seat unit and carrycot
- New:
- about £1,215
Bugaboo Dragonfly
The Dragonfly is Bugaboo's compact city pram, with a reversible seat and an optional full-size carrycot. Its party trick is folding in one piece with the carrycot left on, then standing up on its own. It is nimble in tight spaces but happiest on pavements rather than rough paths.
- Best for:
- City parents who want a from-birth pram that folds small
- Comes with:
- frame and seat unit
- New:
- about £695
Bugaboo Fox 3
The Fox 3 is the all-terrain Bugaboo that came before the Fox 5, sold with a carrycot and a reversible seat. It rides very smoothly on rough paths and is easy to steer one-handed. Bugaboo has retired it, so it is now a good-value secondhand buy.
- Best for:
- Parents after a rugged full-size pram at a secondhand price
- Comes with:
- frame, seat unit and carrycot
- New:
- about £1,115
Bugaboo Fox 5
The Fox 5 is Bugaboo's all-terrain pram, sold with a carrycot and a reversible seat that grows with your child. It pushes smoothly over rough ground and folds in one piece with either unit attached. It has since been replaced by the Fox 5 Renew, so it is now mostly found secondhand.
- Best for:
- Families who want one pram for pavements, parks and country paths
- Comes with:
- frame, seat unit and carrycot
- New:
- about £1,115
Selling a used Bugaboo
Bugaboo makes everything from full-size prams to cabin-size travel buggies. The Fox and the Donkey are its big prams, sold with a carrycot and a seat, and the Donkey widens into a double. The Dragonfly and the Bee are compact city pushchairs, and the Butterfly folds small enough for most cabin lockers.
Much of a used Bugaboo’s value is in the full set. For a Fox or a Donkey that means the carrycot as well as the seat; for a Butterfly 2, the rain cover it came with. Older generations, like the Fox 3, still sell, but a newer one in the same condition is usually worth more.
What's a used Bugaboo worth?
We pay up to £235 for a complete Bugaboo Donkey 5 in the best condition. For any Bugaboo, what we pay depends most on its condition, then on what's included. Pick your model for its full guide by condition.
Which Bugaboo models do you buy?
All 7: Bugaboo Bee 6, Bugaboo Butterfly, Bugaboo Butterfly 2, Bugaboo Donkey 5, Bugaboo Dragonfly, Bugaboo Fox 3 and Bugaboo Fox 5. Each has its own price guide, with what we pay in each condition.
