How to fold your Silver Cross Reef for collection
The Reef folds with the seat still on, facing either way, into a compact self-standing fold.
Watch it first
Get it ready
Step 1: Empty the basket and any pockets. No need to clean it: we wash every buggy.
Step 2: Take off the rain cover, footmuff, cup holder and anything else clipped on. They go in the box too if you told us about them.
Take it apart
Step 3: If the carrycot is fitted, take it off and fold it flat.
Step 4: Take off any car seat adaptors.
Fold the frame
Step 5: Put the brake on and lock the front wheels so they cannot swivel.
Step 6: Pull the recline handle on the back of the seat and fold the backrest down onto the seat.
Step 7: Press the handlebar adjust button and push the handlebar all the way in.
Step 8: Work the three fold controls on the handlebar together: the safety catch, the fold trigger and the fold button.
Step 9: Push the handlebar down and forward until the frame folds.
Step 10: Check the fold lock has engaged before you lift it.
Good to know
- You can fold it with the seat parent-facing or world-facing, so there is no need to take the seat off.
- Folded, the Reef stands on its own wheels, which makes it easy to lower into the box.
Pack the box
Step 11: Put the folded frame in the box first, wheels down.
Step 12: Slide the seat unit or carrycot in beside it, then tuck the small bits into the gaps. A carrier bag keeps them together.
Step 13: Close the flaps and re-seal the box with the roll of tape we sent: along the middle seam, over the ends and down the sides.
Step 14: Peel the backing off the wallet, with the FedEx label still inside, and stick it on top beside the tape, over any old labels. There is nothing to print.
Buttons and handles move about a little between production years. If yours looks different, the fold steps in your manual are the ones to follow.
