How to fold your Bugaboo Donkey 5 for collection
Seats, carrycot and side luggage basket off and packed alongside, then the frame folds down and stands up on its own.
Get it ready
Step 1: Empty the basket and any pockets.
Step 2: Take off the rain cover, footmuff, cup holder and anything else clipped on. They go in the box too if you told us about them.
Take it apart
Step 3: Close the canopy on each seat or carrycot.
Step 4: Take off each seat or carrycot and lift it off the frame.
Step 5: In mono mode, unclip the side luggage basket and pack it alongside.
Fold the frame
Step 6: Put the brake on.
Step 7: Lift the white latches on the sides of the handlebar and push the handlebar down to its lowest position.
Step 8: Close the white latches to lock the handlebar there.
Step 9: Push the black security lock on the side of the handlebar while pulling the white triggers up.
Step 10: Let the handlebar go down to the floor.
Step 11: Pull up on the centre bar to bring the wheels together into a standing fold.
Good to know
- It folds the same way in mono, duo or twin mode, but in duo or twin mode the folded frame is much wider, so check it fits the box before you tape it.
Pack the box
Step 12: Put the folded frame in the box first, wheels down.
Step 13: Slide the seat unit or carrycot in beside it, then tuck the small bits into the gaps. A carrier bag keeps them together.
Step 14: Tape the box shut along every seam. There is no label to print: the DPD driver brings it.
Buttons and handles move about a little between production years. If yours looks different, the fold steps in your manual are the ones to follow.
